CPR Boston Certification FAQs

The American Heart Association ([email protected]) will send each student an email with the link to claim your certificate. This link will be available to you until your certificate expire 2 years from the date issued. PLEASE make sure when you sign in for the course that your email address is correct. Please note you should use your personal email address as some businesses block these types of emails.

Students can claim eCards by going to www.heart.org/cpr/mycards, and entering their First Name, Last Name, and Email Address. Please note that the information must be the same as the information provided to their Instructor during training.

No, your submission for registration is not complete until your payment has been successfully processed; this process may take up to 48 hours. We will notify you if there is an issue. You must also arrive at least 30 min’s early or you will risk losing your seat. You will NOT be allowed to enter if you are late.

Yes, you may bring someone to help interpret/translate the English speaking course to your native language. We do have the CPR Exam in Spanish however you will need to request it.

Manuals are recommended for CPR and First Aid. For ACLS you will need a manual the first day of the course. To obtain your manual you should click on one of the links below.

Yes, you may bring your own if you prefer. We will use a disposable barrier for training.

Some optional items are:

Bring something to write with, we can loan you a pen

A pocket mask to practice with, but not necessary

For ACLS you will need the latest ACLS student manual and a copy of your pre-test

Electronic cards will be provided for CPR and/or ACLS certification electronically once you pass and your payment has been processed or your company listed on our prepaid list. You will receive an email from the American Heart Association ([email protected]) within 48 hours. Following the instruction in the email to claim your card. All First Aid Certificates of completion will also be sent via email within 48 hours of the course.

If your company sent you and is paying for the course, you will still receive your card electronically to your email address. Your company will receive a list with a link to verify your certificate. We do not recommend using a company or school email address.

You may request to attend at another date via email. If you paid for a course and did not attend within 60 days from your original registration date you will not be refunded.

You will need to send an email to [email protected] with the name on the credit card used, date and name of the person attending the course and reason for refund.

Please note we cannot process refunds older than 30 days.

CPRBoston does NOT have a grace period. Everyone should arrive at least 30 min’s prior to class starting to allow time to check-in. Once the course is full you will NOT be allowed to attend on that date.

Directions for the mass transit (“MBTA”) subway stop are:

  • Take the red line – Ashmont train to the Ashmont station (end of the red line)
  • Board   the 215 transit bus
  • Have the driver drop you off at Hilltop Street.
  • Cross over the other side of the street (there is park on that side)
  • Walk over the bridge – walk into the parking lot of 2 Granite Avenue, Milton, MA, 02186
  • The session will be held on the second floor of the building 

All our courses are in English however you may bring an interpreter/translator. We currently have the exam in Spanish for those that read Spanish.

Basic Life Support (BLS)  Provider Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) covers the following:

  1. Includes one and two person CPR skills for adult, child and infant
  2. Foreign body airway maneuver, for conscious and unconscious adult, child, and infant
  3. Barrier devices and bag/mask/valve use
  4. Orientation to Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Heartsaver AED Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) covers the following:

  1. Includes one person CPR skills for adult, child and infant
  2. Foreign body airway maneuver, for conscious and unconscious adult, child, and infant
  3. Orientation to Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

CPR  The Basic Life Support (BLS) Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course covers adult, child and infant CPR, 2- person rescuer, bag-valve mask, barrier devices, choking and Automated External Defibrillation (AED). We also go over what to do if someone is having a stroke, heart attack, calling 911.

First Aid training includes 4 parts.

Part 1:First Aid Basics

Rescuer Duties, Victim and Rescuer Safety, Phoning for Help, Finding the Problem, and What to do After an Emergency.

Part 2: Medical Emergencies

Breathing Problems, Choking, Allergic Reactions, Heart Attacks, Fainting, Diabetes and Low Blood Sugar, Stroke, Seizures, and Shock.

Part 3: Injury Emergencies

Bleeding you can see, Wounds, Bleeding you can’t see, Head, Neck, and Spine Injuries, Broken Bones and Sprains, Burns and Electrical Injuries,

Part 4: Environmental Emergencies

Bites and Stings, Heat-Related Injuries,  Cold-Related Injuries, and Poison Emergencies.
