The AHA’s BLS Course provides the foundation for saving lives from cardiac arrest. It teaches both professional single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) covers the following:
- Includes one and two person CPR skills for adult, child and infant
- Foreign body airway maneuver, for conscious and unconscious adult, child, and infant
- Barrier devices and bag/mask/valve use
- Orientation to Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and practice skills in a team scenario
